Digital Quaker Collection Courtesy of Earlham College, the Digital Quaker Collection offers free access to "over 500 individual Quaker works from the 17th and 18th centuries." Nonprofit takes hold of blog tool: The Berkman Center for Internet & Society becomes the keeper of the RSS spec, which could alleviate fears about the future of the Web log-building tool.
{from CNET News.com}
alleviate fears? let's see......the RSS spec(created by dave winer) is being generously handed over from UserLand(owned by dave winer) to the berkman center at harvard(who employs dave winer). i feel so much better now. the guy who controls rss2.0 like saddam controlled iraq has conveniently kept control of his baby. see kids, this is why things like PIE/(n)Echo/Atom(or whatever they call it) are good for the web community.

Scripting News is taking a break.: [CDATA[ Scripting News is taking a break. "I'm shutting down Scripting News now, to give me some time to think, and to give you all a demo of what it would be like if it weren't here. These last few days have been really awful. You can't imagine what it's like to have so many people screaming at you. It's inhuman, especially considering that my health isn't that good. The only conclusion I can come to is that I shouldn't be doing this." That said, it looks like Dave is still making updates at http://scriptingnews.userland.com/.
